Part of the journey.
The light filled Sea Ranch studio of Alex & Lee & Greg. I spent a beautiful week studying mineral specimens from their vast library, leading me on an abstract journey into color and texture for fall 2014 textiles. <3
Early work from St Martins.. hand screen print inspired by Mexican tin art. Best memories from that place <3  Copyright 2005 Emily Factor
malformalady: It turns out that putting a certain type of plankton under stress results in one of the most stress-relieving sights on the planet, their resultant blue glow creating astral patterns on sea shores. The surreal appearance of the Maldives beach was actually down to a massive tide of bioluminescent phytoplankton called Lingulodinium polyedrum however. The tiny organisms emit light when stressed, be it by the lapping of waves, the carving action of a surf board or other, creating what looks like a network of stars. Photo credit: hala065
One of my favorite behind-the-scene moments from shooting spring ‘13, on a super hot spring day in Laurel Canyon. Acacia dress with Alex & Lee crystal visions necklace <3
